Spring Garden Park and playground was full of sun worshipers and water sports and swings, Oh my! Grandson observes the chaos.
The youngest of the grandchildren, he is content to be independent these days — no pushing. Instead, I had fun on the swing, too.
All children love the constantly rotating sets of streams that catch them by surprise. Great fun.
Kate and I were down at the South Waterfront, and while she was at the gym I took a walk over the Tilikum Crossing, Bridge of the People and back. MAX orange train stop on the west side. The bridge was designed by TriMet.
The bridge gives you a new and calm perspective of the city divided by the Willamette River. It was cloudy and breezy, perfect whether for a brisk walk over the bridge and back.
I walked over the bridge the first day it opened in 2014, and bought the bridge poster signed by the artist of all the Willamette River bridges. It was a fundraiser to light up the bridges at night.
The river's speed controls the pace the colors change and move across the bridge. The river's height is displayed by a second color that moves vertically up and down the towers and the cables. The constantly changing lights on this bridge represent the speed and temperature of the water underneath.

Kate finally puts the finishing touches on her new sewing room. This week, she finished the two sides of the drapes which roll up and down and can be tied at any height. Storage under the bed and in the table, two shelves are now mounted on the wall for out-of-the-way storage, and fun color-related items on display and out of the way.
An evening walk through the Gabriel Park forest was cool and refreshing. Stay cool this week! It’s going to be a hot one!
